Silhouette (again) stops infringers at the MIDO fair

For the second consecutive year, Silhouette, the world leading premium rimless eyewear company based in Austria, assisted by our law firm, successfully enforced its IP rights at the International Optics MIDO Fair which took place in Milan from 1 to 3 March.

The action led to find nine companies which were exhibiting frames in infringement of registered designs and patents owned by Silhouette and valid both in Europe and in extra-European Countries.
As a consequence of those activities, the involved infringers formally undertook to withdraw the counterfeiting products from the market and to cease any further commercialisation of them in the future.

In two cases, Silhouette was also supported by the MIDO anti-counterfeiting service which served a formal notice on the infringers, informing them that, should the infringement be ascertained by a court, they might be banned from future MIDO exhibitions.

Thanks to these actions, Silhouette could effectively and swiftly protect its IP rights, which are the basis of the company’s choice to constantly focus on innovation and development of high-quality products.
